To receive relevant alerts and avoid missing opportunities, it&#8217;s crucial to set up effective and powerful filters.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ideally, the filters should give a reasonable number of new opportunities every day. Thus, they should be:<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sufficiently generic &#8211; to catch <em>all<\/em> relevant opportunities.<\/li>\n\n<li>Sufficiently specific &#8211; in order to ignore <em>most<\/em> irelevant tenders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ideal number of daily tenders that can be analyzed by a small-medium team would be roughly 5-10 opportunities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 100 opportunities per day means the market is too high and must be segmented. 100 tenders would require a huge effort to qualify, so most will probably be ignored.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Less than 2-3 tenders could mean that the target market is too small.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The most relevant filters are:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Industry, Domain<\/li>\n\n<li>Keywords<\/li>\n\n<li>Buyer country<\/li>\n\n<li>Buyer type,<\/li>\n\n<li>Data source<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Best practices:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose the Industry, then drill-down to Domains<strong> (i.e. CPV division).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Avoid using Topics <\/strong>(CPV codes). They are too specific, thus difficult to manage.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Search either by Keyword, or by Industry\/Domain &#8211; not both.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"margin-left: 2rem; list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Using both simultaneously could restrict the search excessively.<\/li>\n\n<li><em>Of course, unless you look for a very specific, very rare type of project.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Search either by Buyer country or Buyer type: European\/international institutions.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"margin-left: 2rem; list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>E.g., European and international institutions have offices in multiple countries, so the country is less relevant for them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Avoid very wide filters<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"margin-left: 2rem; list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>E.g.,\u201dIT for the entire Europe\u201d, or \u201dall tenders in 20 countries\u201d. Hermix analyzes cca. 3000 tenders daily. A very wide filter return very many (irrelevant) results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Avoid filtering by a specific Buyer<\/strong> (or Contractor)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"margin-left: 2rem; list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>It is always possible that a tender might be published under a wrong \/ different Buyer Name, and with wrong contact details.
